Learn to create a layered magical Starry Night scenic pendant that involves piercing, soldering, texturing and setting little sparkles into a hinged bail pendant. These techniques all open the door to understanding hand fabrication and how to approach more complex and interesting pieces. You’ll walk away with a finished pendant and skills to catapult your creative ideas to the next level. Project based learning gives a ton of techniques into a finished piece. All of these techniques can be applied to your own work in a variety of ways.
This is an intermediate level workshop and students should have familiarity with the torch, saw, soldering, basic file and hand tool usage.
Skills covered during the workshop include sawing, soldering, heat control, filing, texturing with bits, forming bails, using and making templates, flush setting, basic hinge making and so many tips, tricks and pointers to bring your ideas to fruition.
