Kathy Grace is continually inspired by the creative possibilities of clay, an ever-challenging medium that fuels her exploration and innovation. Although her work begins on the potter’s wheel, “my pots are rarely round,” she says. The result is a collection of pieces that are both functional and sculptural, blending utility with artistic expression.
Kathy enriches her work through layers of slips, textures, and stamped patterns applied during the greenware stage. To create additional depth and visual interest, she further enhances each piece with underglazes, glazes, and overglazes, resulting in richly detailed surfaces that invite closer inspection.
