Whitney Stahl
Whitney Stahl is a Printmaker, Papermaker, and Book Artist from Asheville, NC. She holds a Bachelor’s in Multimedia Arts + Sciences from UNC Asheville and a Master’s in Art + the Book from the Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, DC.
During her time at the Corcoran, she interned at the Library of Congress, the nation’s oldest federal cultural institution. There, she conducted research on the Library’s Artist Books and Fine Art Collection, presented its Special Collections to private groups, and lectured to the public. Her own artist’s books are held in private and public library collections across the country.
As an educator, Whitney has taught printmaking, papermaking, book art, and interactive design at Warren Wilson College, Western Carolina University, and the University of Georgia’s Cortona Studies Abroad program in Italy. Additionally, she has been a studio assistant at Penland School of Craft and Haystack Mountain School for Craft. Throughout the pandemic, she served as an elementary art instructor within the North Carolina public school system. Currently, she devotes her efforts to promoting art accessibility through her involvement with the Sawtooth School for Visual Art.
