Visiting Art Workshop – Large Vessel Making with Kate Waltman
Come learn a traditional style of large vessel making that is easy on the body and does not require moving large amounts of clay. Kate Waltman teaches an ancient northern Thai technique of wheel construction that uses small coils and slow throwing which works the clay in compression. This approach to working large reduces cracking, allows for lighter vessels, and can easily lend itself to sculptural construction. This technique is accessible to all makers and only beginner throwing skills are necessary for success. Join Kate to building your skill set and create an impressive vessel.
