Create a beautiful hanging shelf inspired by the clean lines and practical design of Shaker furniture. Over five evenings, students will build a three-tier hardwood shelf perfect for displaying plants, pottery, books, or treasured objects while learning fundamental woodworking techniques that transfer to larger furniture projects.Students will mill and prepare stock, shape shelf components, cut joinery, assemble the project, and apply a finish that highlights the natural beauty of the wood. Throughout the class, we’ll discuss wood movement, proportion, tool selection, and techniques for achieving clean, accurate results.This project is an excellent introduction to furniture construction and offers students an opportunity to build a functional piece they will enjoy using for years to come.
Registration closes one week prior to the start of class.
