Encaustic painting is an ancient, vibrant art form using heated beeswax mixed with pigment, applied molten to a surface, and fused with heat to create durable, layered, sculptural art with rich texture, allowing for unique effects like collage, incising and transparency. Well known artist, Dana Holliday, will guide students through the process, teaching them how to create texture with colorful layers, fused together for depth and luminosity.
