Joey Upper was born and raised in North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad and brings more than a decade of marketing experience to Sawtooth School for Visual Art, with a background in content marketing and program development in education and nonprofit settings.
He most recently served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Old Salem Museums and Gardens, where he led strategy, storytelling, and audience engagement initiatives. Joey is currently an MBA candidate at The Citadel, focusing on change management and strategic planning.
Outside of work, he is an actor and director with Shared Radiance Performing Arts Company, the longest-running Shakespeare company in the Triad, and serves on its board as Marketing and Communications Chair. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, he often spends time at Salem Lake on his way home.
