Announcing our 2024-2025 Artists in Residence

We’re delighted to announce our 2024-2025 Ceramics Artists in Residence and our 2024-2025 Gondring Resident in Woodworking! These four emerging talents will spend the next year at Sawtooth developing new skills, fostering community connections, and creating new bodies of work while assisting with studio operations.

Our new Ceramics Artists in Residence are A.C. Bell (Asheville, NC) Casper Clifford (St. Petersburg, Florida), and Eamon Rogers (Star, NC).

“This new group of ceramic residents brings a broad range of experiences in both functional and sculptural ceramics with diverse aesthetic approaches,” said Po Wen Liu, our Director of Ceramics. “We are thrilled to have them join us, working with other makers in our vibrant creative community.”

Our new Gondring Resident in Woodworking is Ella Coyne (Winston-Salem, NC).

“Ella’s portfolio showed a wide range of craft skill sets, and a beautiful sensitivity to the interconnectedness of craft, materials and larger conceptual meanings,” said Josie Vogel, our Director of Wood Programs. “We are so excited to be able to offer this opportunity to her as an interdisciplinary artist with a strong foundation in woodworking and can’t wait to see the beautiful work she makes in our studios this year.”

Ella Coyne is a practicing artist and frequent face in the arts of Winston-Salem. She has worked as the front desk assistant, woodworking intern, and youth art camp instructor at Sawtooth School for Visual Arts and is the Gallery and Artists Services Fellow at the Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
