Taylor Berthelson
Taylor is a Winston Salem based printmaker and a Studio Art major graduate of Salem College.
She discovered a love for printmaking during her time at Salem College and was reacquainted
with it during the pandemic. Her artistic process starts off by drawing randomly on Speedball
pink easy carve rubber and seeing where it takes her. Her art style can be described as spooky
and halloween-esque. Sometimes she has an idea of what she wants the drawing to look like,
other times she draws until a weird, little creature appears. She finds the act of carving out a
design very relaxing and satisfying upon seeing the end result. She is a recent member of the
Art-O-Mat community where she prints said creatures on small canvas pouches. She has also
been experimenting with printing on old clothes, thus upcycling them and giving them new life!
