Textile Collage
We have all made paper collages from magazine cuttings while in grade school, but have you ever made a textile collage? We are not talking about quilts, we are talking about painting an image using fabrics!
Textile collages have been growing in popularity lately, and we have just what you need to get started in this amazing art! Using a fusible and some fabric, students will learn to make their own Fabric/Textile Collages. Grace McFetters Caldwell, fiber and textile artist, will be leading students through a series of challenges. Each class meeting, Grace will help students create their own textile collages. Students will be encouraged to grow their own fabric stash, while a remnant/scrap bin will be maintained to be shared among the students. Textile collages can be finished in a variety of ways, so bring your creativity and fabric stash and learn to make your own textile collage!
