From Phone to Wood. Cyanotypes ( 15+)
Escape the digital display and experience the magic of creating a wood cyanotype print from an image that comes from your phone. The process is scientific but the outcome is magical and students will leave the workshop with a bespoke 'one of a kind' photo print creation. Did we mention the process is also a ton of fun! Students will email the instructor their selection and in class a large photo negative will be created and then printed. Next, this 'printed negative' will be treated, primed, and then attached to your oval block of wood for the image transfer process. Instructor Marina Paul will teach the multi step process including exposing your image to the wood outdoors and then treating the wood with darkroom chemicals used for the cyanotype process. This is a hands on process any photographer, crafter, or artist will be sure to love.
