Copying the Masters: Martin Schoeller
The goal is simple enough. To copy/replicate an iconic image of a Master Photographer. Martin Schoeller’s work is unmistakable and has graced the cover of every major publication. Known for hyper close and intimate photographs of politicians, musicians, and strangers alike. Facial features such as eyes and mouths are richly in focus contrasted by the smooth blurry falloff of his subjects neckline, clothing, and ears. The effect is an almost 3D when executed properly. Our mission in this 2 week class is to dissect and reverse engineer his style (from lighting to lens selection, from composition to post-production) and then via homework, create our own Martin Schoeller-esque image. Ages: 15-Adult.
