Carve a Cartoon Magnet
Try your hand at relief carving and create a fun magnet from your favorite cartoon character. This small-scale carving project is a great way to get familiar with the tools and techniques of carving. You'll transfer your image onto the wood, cut out the shape with a scroll saw and begin chipping away at your design. Acrylic paints will be available so that you can finish off your cartoon with some color. The final touch is a magnet on the back so that your carving can hang on your fridge, toolbox or any other metal fixtures in your home or workshop. No experience needed.
Additional Information:
- A $10 materials fee will be added to the total class fee at checkout.
- Registration will close one week prior to the start of class.
- Enrollment is open to students ages 18 and up.
- Class will take a lunch break around mid day. Students are encouraged to either pack a lunch or plan to visit one of the convenient eateries on nearby 4th st.
