Barn Quilts
Make a barn quilt in the wood studio. Barn quilts are beautiful geometric quilt patterns painted on wood that decorate rural landscapes across the U.S. Often mounted on the exterior walls of barns, garages or potting sheds, they are a long-standing folk-art tradition of the American countryside. Learn the basics of geometric design layout for various patterns with a digital design demo and simple measuring tools. Class will include discussions of suitable materials and paints for a work of art that lives outdoors. The quilt you make in class will be 2’ by 2’ and use paint colors provided by the instructor. No prior experience is necessary.
Additional Information:
- A $45 materials fee will be added to the total class fee at checkout
- Registration will close one week prior to the start of class
- Enrollment is open to students ages 18 and up
- The instructor will provide multiple colors of exterior acrylic paint. You are welcome to bring more colors if you like but may want to wait until after the first class to buy them.
