Check in with our front desk associate in the Marta Blades Shop to learn more about Sawtooth’s offerings and hear about upcoming events. Our shop features work made by Sawtooth instructors, students, and community members, offering a glimpse of the incredible work produced in our studios. After checking in with a staff member, you’re welcome to take a self-guided tour through our hallways and peek into studios, though we ask that you not interrupt classes in session.
Additionally, our Eleanor and Egbert Davis Gallery and our Redding Corridor Gallery regularly feature rotating exhibitions of local, regional, and national art. We collaborate with curators and storytellers from our community to present diverse and meaningful exhibitions. Click here to see what’s currently on view.
For parking, the Arts Council manages a surface lot across from our Spruce Street entrance, and there is plenty of metered street parking available on surrounding streets.
Parking for Sawtooth
Sawtooth is located in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem, right off Salem Parkway’s Marshall/Cherry Street exit. If you’re coming down Marshall Street, you’ll see our trademark roof line from the street, along with a short set of stairs leading you into our main hallway entrance and Marta Blades Shop. You can find an accessible entrance on Spruce Street via the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts; Sawtooth is on the second floor.

Street Parking Options
There is plenty of street parking available downtown on the surrounding streets.
Street parking is free on weekdays after 5 pm and all day on weekends. If you’re taking an evening class or a Saturday workshop, it is highly recommended you park in the parallel spaces on the surrounding streets.
From 8 am – 5 pm on Monday through Friday, the cost for street parking is $1.50/hour with payments accepted via the PayByPhone app or by calling their toll-free number during weekday business hours: 1-888-680-7275
Signs posted along the street provide information about the zone number required for payment.
Paid Lot Options
The Arts Council manages a surface lot across from the Spruce Street entrance of the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts, with separate weekday, evening, weekend, and full-day rates.
Payments for this lot must be made through the PayByPhone app. Please ensure your license plate is correct and payment method is up-to-date, as any fines or appeals will be handled solely by SmartPark. Arts Council staff will no longer be able to take payment for parking. Read more here.

Douglas Parking manages a 72-space lot at the corner of 2nd and Marshall Street, along with a garage at 2nd and Cherry Street, with competitive day, evening, and weekend rates. The Liberty Plaza Parking Deck at 2nd and Liberty Streets also has competitive rates. Learn more here.

Generations Center parking
Parking at the Intergenerational Center for Arts and Wellness is free for both students and visitors. We kindly ask that the front lot spaces directly in front of the building be reserved for individuals with limited mobility.
For classes and workshops outside of regular business hours, please use the Deacon Boulevard gated entrance at 114 W. 30th Street.
