Sawtooth Spotlight Holiday Market + Juried Exhibition has become a beloved Winston tradition, featuring high-quality, handmade works from local and regional artists, ideal for holiday gift-giving. The months-long Juried Exhibition typically showcases over 100 artists in our campus galleries, helping you discover the best of the Triad. Our one-day Holiday Market attracts nearly 1,000 visitors with an array of skilled artisan vendors, engaging art activities, demonstrations, food trucks, and family-friendly fun.

The tradition continues this year with Sawtooth Spotlight: Holiday Market + Juried Exhibition, a year-end celebration of fine art, craft, and community featuring one-of-a-kind artworks perfect for holiday gift-giving!

Who can apply?

How are artists & artworks chosen?

Juried Exhibition artworks will be scored in 3 categories—craftsmanship, creativity & artistic voice, elements of design—by a jury of practicing artists, educators, and art lovers. A small internal team at Sawtooth will use those scores to make the final selections. Preference will be given to newer works and those that have not been submitted to Spotlight before.
Holiday Market applications will be selected based on quality of work, space availability, and Sawtooth's goal to provide a variety of goods and artworks during the market. We will give priority to those already engaged with Sawtooth but make space to encourage new voices in our community!

FAQ – Holiday Market

What am I responsible for if accepted for the Holiday Market?

The Market will take place inside the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts on Saturday, December 5. Ticketed shopping hour: 10 – 11 am, Open to public: 11 am – 4 pm.
Set up will begin at 8 am. Artist vendors can break down from 4 – 5 pm. Artists set up their booth in a location determined by Sawtooth staff.
Artists manage their own sales.
If accepted, the booth fee is $100.
2 artists can share 1 booth space/fee if both are accepted to the Market. Booth space dimensions vary but will be no less than 10 x 5 ft. Artists should plan to bring their own display furniture to fit within the space. 6 or 8 ft. table rentals are available @ $10/table; 1 table per booth.
Fees are due by Friday, October 23rd.

Why should I apply?

Becoming the must-attend market of the season, we welcomed 1,900 guests last year, up from 1,300 and 800 the years prior! After the event, artists shared their appreciation for the event organization, volunteer help, promotion, and overall great sales. The family-friendly day included food trucks, free activities hosted by Sawtooth, and general merriment. We can’t wait to celebrate with the community again and shine the spotlight on YOU!
