Square Basket with Handle
Students will complete a square 10 X 10 basket with a handle. This unique square basket uses start and stop rows. After a couple of rows, the spokes are split in half and smaller dyed reed is used to form the sides of the basket. The spokes are then woven together again as one. After weaving the basket, the handle is also decorated if time permits. Skills learned will include: stop and start weaving, twining, and a twill pattern for the decorative handle.
