Reduction Linocut
Enhance your printmaking skills in this 6-week reduction linocut class. Plan a printmaking artwork using a single block of linoleum, carving away layer by layer. Each layer will be printed on top of the previous one. Embrace the precious and ephemeral nature of this process, as you cannot simply undo a mark once it’s made. The instructor will guide students through planning three layers of engraving on the linoleum and the relief printing process. By the end of the class, students will have multiple editions of their prints and the ability to think in layers.
